With a growing number of women in the military—including thousands who have served in the Middle East—it is only natural that many VFW Posts are proud to have more female veterans as members. These proud veterans are joining women who served in earlier wars as VFW committee members, officers and commanders at the Post, District, Department and National VFW levels.

The VFW created the “She Serves” program to honor female veterans for their service and to invite them into the VFW. Our legislative team in Washington is calling on lawmakers and VA officials to meet the special needs of women veterans.
