Posts Can Honor Gary Anders with Donations for Homeless Veterans posted by Ben on August 9th, 2011
The Department and homeless veterans lost a great friend when State Sr. Vice Commander Gary M. Anders recently succumbed to leukemia. A Vietnam War veteran and Purple Heart recipient, Gary dedicated much of his VFW time and energy helping homeless veterans find resources and support to improve their standing in life.
State HQ encourages all Posts to consider making a donation to the Department in honor of Gary to further our ability to support veterans who rely on assistance programs. By contributing $100 or more—or whatever amount your Post can afford—you will help the Pennsylvania VFW continue making donations to shelters and stand down events across the state.
Send donations to State HQ in Harrisburg (made out to: Dept. of PA VFW) with “Homeless Vets – Anders Tribute” written in the check memo line. Together, we can carry on the Department’s great tradition of supporting homeless veterans. Shown below is our departed Brother Gary donating a check and new socks to a shelter.
